ABOUT WATER HARVESTING SOLUTIONS

At Water Harvesting Solutions (Wahaso), we are a team that brings experience, skill and passion about water conservation to every client project. We incorporate a holistic approach in designing and building systems – we try to integrate multiple sources of renewable water along with both active and passive approaches to capturing and processing water to meet the expectations and needs of the client.

It is our core competencies in system design, filtration, control systems, our experience – and our focus on only the commercial and institutional building market -- that set us aside from other rainwater or greywater systems suppliers. And to ensure that we can deliver a full service solution to our clients, we have developed a team of experts in engineering, fabrication, regulation and environmental issues.

As members of the U.S. Green Building Council , we understand the broader goals and concerns of clients interested in achieving LEED certification for their building, and we can actively support the design and documentation of a water harvesting approach to maximize LEED points in this area. And as members of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association , we stay connected to the latest industry innovations, approaches and regulatory issues.

John R. Bauer (President) has spent his 30-year career as a marketer and sales executive, so he understands the importance of customer service and customer satisfaction. John is comfortable in the technology world and is passionate about environmental issues. John is a Duke University Alumnus with an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He is also a Senior Faculty professor at Keller Graduate School.

Stuart L. Bailin (Director of Engineering) has over 30 years of experience with the pumps, valves, tanks, instrumentation, controls and process designs used in water harvesting systems. He enjoys using his system design and CAD skills to create custom solutions for challenging client requirements. It is the close tie between client needs, process design and system build & install that ensure a project will work as specified. Clients may recognize Stuart from Fluid Designs, Inc. a fluid systems company he founded in 2004. A native of Appleton, WI, BS and a University of Wisconsin – Madison alumnus, he and his family currently live in the Chicago area.

James Sharp (Director of Operations)  is responsible for the fabrication and delivery of systems designed by the engineering team and regularly draws on his more than 25 years of experience in industrial operations.  His hands-on experience as both an engineer and operations manager gives him a unique skill set that has greatly benefitted the company.    Jim holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology.  He is also a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).  He lives in Chicago with his wife and three sons.

Daniel K. Elekman (Senior Mechanical Engineer) designs water harvesting systems using 3D solid modeling CAD.  This enables customers and contractors an easy way to visualize our solutions.  His strong background in manufacturing, product development, and finance allows him to design robust systems. Daniel formerly worked at IBM and Motorola.  He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Loyola University.  Daniel is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and lives in the Chicago area with his wife and two daughters.
